Accessing Bereavement Support over the Festive Period
Grief Helplines & Websites
Dearest Gentle Reader,
This is less of a letter and I will be back to normal service in the new year but I needed an easily accessible place to post the following info just in case the subject of this podcast/newsletter accidentally brings someone here in need of support. I will be posting the basics on Instagram & Bluesky for the same reason.
If you you usually read my letters because you think open conversations about death and where it sits in our society and history are important, this might not be the content for you and I would obviously understand you ignoring me and heading back into whatever the festive season means to you.
However, if you are UK based and are looking for support please see below. This is accurate as of today (22.12.24) and combined from information from some of these organisations direct and from websites such as ataloss.org and The Good Grief Project:

I really hope some of this information is of help and that you get through this difficult season as lightly as possible. Remember, all grief is different, if it helps you don’t have to hide how you feel and sometimes talking to strangers can actually be of more benefit than those close to us.
Sending love to all those who are struggling and to those who are supporting them.
